Después de varias idas y vueltas marcadas por la huelga de actores y escritores de Hollywood, este lunes 15 de enero se llevó a cabo el evento más importante de la televisión estadounidense: la entrega de los Premios Emmy. La gala tuvo lugar en el Peacock Theatre de Los Ángeles y fue conducida por el actor y comediante Anthony Anderson.
En la 75 edición de los premios no hubo demasiadas sorpresas: Succession y The Bear llegaban como favoritas en las categorías de drama y comedia, respectivamente, y arrasaron con 6 premios cada una. La serie dramática de HBO –la más nominada de la noche– se llevó los premios a Mejor serie, Mejor actriz (Sarah Snook), Mejor actor (Kieran Culkin), Mejor actor de reparto (Matthew Macfadyen), Mejor dirección y Mejor guion. Por su lado, la apuesta de FX se llevó a casa: Mejor serie, Mejor actor (Jeremy Allen White), Mejor actor de reparto (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), Mejor actriz de reparto (Ayo Edebiri), Mejor dirección y Mejor guion.
La única categoría de comedia en la que hubo otra serie ganadora fue la de Mejor actriz, premio que fue para Quinta Brunson de Abbott Elementary. Lo mismo ocurrió en las categorías de drama: en solo una terna no ganó Succession y en cambio lo hizo The White Lotus, cuando Jennifer Coolidge recibió el galardón a Mejor actriz. The Last of Us y Ted Lasso, con 24 y 21 nominaciones cada una, respectivamente, se fueron a casa con las manos vacías.
En el apartado de miniseries también hubo un título dominante: Beef. La entrega de Netflix se quedó con los premios a Mejor miniserie, Mejor actriz (Ali Wong), Mejor actor (Steven Yeun), Mejor actor secundario (Paul Walter Hauser), Mejor guion y Mejor dirección.
